SymptomsAs mentioned earlier there are different types of migraine headache, however most of them share the basic symptoms in a unique way. In simple words it all starts with a simple headache and then develops into a throbbing, constant and pulsating pain that can be felt in the crown area of the head/temples and even in the front and back of the head followed by nausea and vomiting sensation. In some cases patients are also sensitive to noise and light. Where as some of the other symptoms which can also be noticed would be sudden change of mood and mental discomfort. The hemiplegics migraine often begins with temporary motor paralysis and/or sensory disturbances on one side of the body, followed by the headache -- within the hour -- which may be accompanied by numbness or the "pins and needles" sensation. When the headache appears, the initial neurological symptoms may disappear. What Causes migraineMigraines may be caused by a chemical or electrical problem in some divisions of the brain. When those chemicals in the brain that send messages from one cell to another, including the messages to blood vessels to get narrow or expand, are interrupted, migraines can occur. A key element of a migraine headache is blood flow change in the brain. Migraines can come into picture as often as several times a week or may be once in a year and this can occur in both the cases either be Common or Classic migraine. One who suffers from this rare migraine with aura may probably have a family history. |
